1st I wake-up around 2 or 3am & after opening my eyes I sit-up... my computer is in front of the futon I sleep on in an office in an ironshop in Compton, CA... sometimes I start w/ my calendar schedule of where I gotta go & what I gotta do, often I'll toke a quick bowl & have a few sips of my 40oz. Steel Reserve to get in the mood to create... I then start my venture into the virtual world of creative expressions... I proceed to flip through a Video Project for the Ironwork to about 5-10 business card designs needing pics or info 2 finish... then the websites in process followed by some follow-up phone calls & try to move forward with something or arrange to meet & go over prices, changes, etc... From there I may head out to take pictures & video of the customer's business & draw out design concepts to upgrade/improve the effective communication of goods & or services they offer... Or sometimes I'll get what I need over the phone or by e-mail from anywhere in the world making it possible to do the work & have them approve it by pressing the refresh button to see changes/samples on the fly... but a print out in person w/ an estimate/invoice on the back is effective & so is faxing sometimes... it always takes at least 3 steps: Rough Draft, Revision & Touch-ups. When possible I try to get the money for the work by Debit/Credit but often times checks or cash are the answer... requiring time or pick-up but all in a days work to be in business for myself! |
